About the Avicenna Scholarship Programme:

High Expectations & Leadership Commitment

The Avicenna Foundation Scholarship is so much more than just financial support. While covering university tuition is important, it is only a small part of what this programme offers. The true value lies in empowering this country’s most talented and aspirational Muslims to access university without the burden of student debt while equipping them with the skills, networks, and mindset to become future leaders and changemakers.

Becoming an Avicenna Scholar is not just about receiving financial support—it is an intensive, high-expectation leadership journey designed to shape the next generation of changemakers. From the moment you join, you will be immersed in a structured development programme that challenges you to grow, lead, and make an impact.

Upon successful induction as an Avicenna Scholar, your journey starts with a rigorous, immersive leadership development programme designed for individuals who are not only academically excellent but are also driven to lead, inspire, and create impact. Scholars must demonstrate unwavering commitment, initiative, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, both in their academic work and in their leadership growth.

This is not a scholarship for those seeking financial aid alone; it is a transformational experience that demands full engagement. Scholars participate in high-level training, 1:1 Coaching, Mentorship, Networking opportunities, and Leadership Projects requiring significant time, effort, and dedication alongside their university studies.

If you are someone who thrives on challenge, seeks to lead, and is determined to make a lasting contribution to British society and even the world, we encourage you to apply. However, if you are looking for financial support without the commitment to personal and professional growth, this may not be the right programme for you.

This programme is designed for those who aspire to lead, innovate, and make a meaningful contribution to society. As an Avicenna Scholar, you will be part of an elite network of future leaders, expected to uphold the highest standards of excellence and commitment.

Avicenna Scholar Non-Negotiables: Are You Ready for the Challenge?

Before applying, it is crucial to understand that being an Avicenna Scholar is a privilege that comes with high expectations. This is not just a scholarship where your tuition fees are paid; it is a commitment to excellence, leadership, and personal growth. Every Scholar is held to strict non-negotiable standards, ensuring that only the most dedicated and driven individuals remain on the programme.

Public Engagement & Media Exposure

As a future leader, visibility and influence matter. Scholars will be required to actively engage in publicity, media, and social media platforms as part of their leadership journey. Whether through interviews, event representation, or online presence, Scholars must be comfortable stepping into the public eye and embracing opportunities to share their impact.

A Demanding but Rewarding Experience

University life is already demanding, but Avicenna adds an extra layer of leadership development that requires time, energy, and dedication. Scholars must be prepared to balance their academic studies, Avicenna commitments, and leadership development activities. This programme is not for the faint-hearted. It is for those willing to push themselves beyond their limits and prioritise excellence.

Performance-Based Progression

Scholarship renewal is not automatic. Continuation on the programme is conditional on yearly performance assessments. Scholars who fail to meet expectations may not advance to the next year. The Avicenna Scholarship is a commitment to ongoing excellence, and every Scholar must demonstrate progress, engagement, and leadership impact.

Nationwide Travel & Late Commitments

Scholars will frequently travel across the UK for networking, training, and leadership events. This will often involve independent travel, late evenings, and weekend commitments. Applicants must be prepared for a dynamic and demanding schedule that extends beyond traditional university commitments.

This scholarship is designed for those who are ready to lead, grow, and challenge themselves at the highest level. If you are prepared to commit fully, embrace high expectations, and make the most of this life-changing opportunity, we encourage you to apply.
